DLine recruiting for Stanford is one of our toughest positions. Shittu would be a A+ and both Shittu and Nwafor would be a pretty damned good DL year. Getting all-uber DE Odenigbo in addition would put us into orbit around the sun. (Ooops. I guess we already are.)
Nwafor is rated a three-star on both Scout and Rivals. Doesn't play for one of the brobdingnagian Texas HS football programs so that won't drive his recruitment ranking. In fact, he's not ranked by either Scout or Rivals at his position. That might change and a Stanford offer might actually help his recruit ranking.
His offer list is solid.
Arizona, Oregon St. and Stanford in the Pac12; Kansas and Missouri in the BigAlmost12; Illinois and Purdue in the Big Ten;Vanderbilt, Boise St., SMU, Tulsa and Tulane.  Of these, the Arizona and Oregon St. offers impress me most. Both those schools emphasize defense and have a history of finding underrated DL talent and developing it.  The puzzling thing is the lack of offers from the Schools That Really Count in Texas: UT, Texas A&M and Texas Tech. Guess he was considered a Plan B.
Well, he's a Plan A- for us and he says as long as he's accepted he's going to Stanford. But is also going to visit Rice and possibly Duke this summer. Wait till he gets a load of what we do to Duke this Sept. Playing for Rice is like volunteering to be poked in the eye with a stick for four straight years, but it shows an academic bent. Hope that also shows up on his app, transcript and scores.
