Adding 40-50 lbs. to Madhu's frame isn't impossible, but it's a pretty daunting development curve.  I think he plays as a big safety rather than a small LB.

"Comments - A quick outside linebacker, Madhu did a good job of coverage and in pursuit. Listed as a safety by Scout, outside linebacker could still be in his future"

He was a quarterback all the way who begged the coaches to give him a shot on defense when it became apparent he was never going to get on the field as a quarterback. And the transition wasn't smooth, as Lynch notes in this story.I love the part about Lynch and Barry Sanders:

Quote:One hit that stands out in Lynchs mind was a hit against the Detroit Lions Barry Sandershe remembers being one of the few to really get a good hit on Sanders.Maybe Barry Sanders Sr. does have an impression about Stanford that was made by John Lynch or maybe could?
Barry, who never said anything, came up to me at the Pro Bowl that year and told me it was the hardest hed ever been hit, Lynch said, chuckling.
