No offer from Hawaii although he visited there this weekend.  Man, how far can a supposed star fall that he can't even get an offer from a former WAC team? From UM to....who knows?  From the Honolulu Advertiser, it seems that Tate's inability to get his academics back on track (i.e. make up for his academic ineligibility at UM) continue to bite him in the butt. That's the most straightforward interpretation of this summary from the Advertiser.
The Hawaii football team has abandoned its pursuit of former Michigan quarterback Tate Forcier.
People familiar with the situation said Forcier did not project to meet the requirements to join the Warriors for UH's fall semester, which begins Aug. 22. If he had chosen to attend UHâand met those standards, Forcier would have been allowed to practice but not play in games in 2011, in accordance with NCAA rules.
I read that as he still isn't academically qualified and so can't practice with the team...and if he can't practice with the team this season he'll be very unlikely to be a serious contributor next season...i.e. so why bother about him?  You'd think that a kid who is serious about playing football would have taken the two intervening academic periods to remove the only apparent roadblock to eligibility. Wonder if he screwed himself by committing to Miami but then withdrawing...or, maybe he never was taking classes at Miami.
