1st half @ Oregon earlier this season, except our D didn't hold them to 10. Pitt is Oregon with a pedestrian QB.

Time of possession: Pitt 19:43, Stanford 10:17
Yards per play: Pitt 5.5, Stanford 3.7
Given that the score is only 10-7, you would have thought that Stanford was up a couple of turnovers, but so far no turnovers.

The defense can be applauded for holding Pitt to 10 in a half. This must be the worst offensive performance in a half by a Stanford team . . . ever?
Worse than Washington this year (or maybe two years ago)?
Hey, at least we have a TD.

Oh, how quickly we forget the 2006 disaster against Arizona.

Yes, that is 52 yards of total offense in the entire game.

No matter what we do in the second half, Stanford's first half offensive performance was terrible. Let's hope the coaching staff can make adjustments and we will see the offense that we all know and love in the second half.

Okay, that was worse. However, it doesn't make me feel any better about what I just watched.

Not even close. The game against Arizona in ‘06 OT thereabouts was the worst ever.

Yeah, Arizona 2006 was the nadir of Stanford football. The only upshot is that it contributed to Wlat Harris getting fired and Jim Harbaugh being hired in 2007.

Yeah it was pretty bad, but given the fact that we have our best RB, two of our top three WR's, and two (or is it three?) of our starting OL out, I can't say I'm shocked.

Yes, but we were an 0-7 team at that point. Expectations are different when you are an 8 win team and the favorite.

AND our starting TE. If you count Hamilton playing LT when he started the season at guard, and with Sarell out, we can probably round it up to 3.
And why isn't Speights playing?

I'm just so thankful we took the opening kickoff so that our stellar run defense can start the second half!!!
Time of possession is going to kill us in the fourth quarter.

Nice first series by our D.
Did anyone see Shaw get into it with the Pitt team in the warmups?

Our ironically stellar defense just held Pitt to a three and out on their first series, so there's that.
BC
Yikes. First play on offense Costello gets sacked, and both Hall and Costello get injured.
BC
Second play, with Richardson behind center, Pitt stops the play in the backfield.

Scarlett has a pronounced skill at running to the spot where the tackler is located.

Shaw ball!
So Costello gets hit in the head, goes out for one play, no exam, and goes right back in. Nicely done!

Sleep walking on offense. 8 yard punt. Sad.
