I really don't know. I used the black helmet in the post because it was the cleanest image of a Cal helmet that I could find.

There's a rumor going around that they're going to wear white helmets.

There's no truth to the rumor that it's because the cal administration observed that the team with the white helmets usually wins the Big Game.
