You know, even though I hate this idea generally, I did think of one and only one situation where it might be preferable: at reunion.
I remember what a pain it is for reunion not knowing when everything will be. Everything is in flux until the final week — will old friends have their get-togethers before the game or after, juggling all the panels, sessions, mini-reunions, etc until 6 days away. Really, the schools should have demanded some pre-scheduling for all reunions initially, but now, given the current situation, a 9am with advance notice could be better than the totally unknown.
But other than reunion, yes, don’t even think about it
Just to be clear, I meant that I liked the phrase "kegs and eggs" and not the 9am kickoff but now that you mention the reunion uncertainty aspect, there could actually be an advantage to this idea once a year.
