1. If you look on ESPN's college football page and scroll down, there in the College Football on Facebook section is a thumbnail pic of a familiar face. Sharon Clayton, aunt of former Stanford DB Nick Sanchez, has made the big time. Sharon was famous for her involvement in Stanford fandom even though she is a die-hard Florida gator fan. Nice lady and fun to drink with. Last seen in person, methinks, during the pre-Orange Bowl hoopla at the Cardboard get-together organized by garvin.
2. Redrumette The Younger was flying back to Florida after taking part in the delayed graduation ceremony at Alabama. (Fatal tornado caused the initial canceling). On the plane RTY talked with her seatmate. Somehow the subject of Stanford came up and the guy perked up and started asking questions when he heard the original Redrumette had graduated the same year as he did and was doing grad work there. Telling it later, RTY said she started out having some doubts about his story. He talked about playing baseball for the Red Sox and the Mets and how he was now doing investment banking with companies with cool tech ideas. RTY, whose standard for an average good looking male is Daniel Craig, said he was a little "geeky", had a bit of a shy aspect, but big and trim enough that his story might be true. I looked it up. It was.
OK Stanford baseball fans. Can you name that player? Graduated in three years. Came to Stanford in 2001.
