Frankie will miss this entire season due to major knee surgery, and Francis Sergeant (a volunteer assistant coach on the men's team the last few years) will step into the assistant coach role this year. Stanford women's tennis alum Erin Burdette remains on staff as a volunteer assistant.
Sergeant played tennis at BYU until 2015 and then joined the Stanford staff on the men's side.
It sounds like this is just a one-year thing, and Frankie will be back in 2020-21, but I believe this will be the first year without a Brennan on the women's staff since the 1978-79 season, which is insane.
