Actually better to create a chip in our shoulders. Now we and our fabulous freshmen have something to prove. Bring it on. Thank you Charlie Creme.

I had no idea what sport you were talking about until I googled "Charlie Creme."
For those similarly unaware, Charlie Creme makes women's basketball brackets for ESPN.

Anybody who is doing tournament brackets in November is a fool. It's just a ploy to generate clicks.

First, Charlie Creme has consistently OVER estimated how Stanford will do. He really seems to like us. So what does it mean when he puts us in a 2 seed despite our #3 ranking?
Note he gives both Oregon and Oregon State 1 seeds. I think he is saying that the Pac 12 has 3 of the best teams in the country, but they can't all be 1 seeds since they play each other so many times--probably three times if they meet in the tournament. That is a lot of losses to distribute between those three teams, so we just are not going to wind up with the kinds of records that justify 3 #1 seeds.
Then why us as the two seed rather than Oregon State? Could be a couple of things. Stanford's road trip to Oregon/Oregon State is MUCH harder than Oregon State's road trip to Cal/Stanford. That favors them a bit. But we also now know that Oregon State is going to be more of a complete team than we thought--no one really knew if their freshman bigs would be any good to go with their superb guards. And already they have gotten off to a fast start. Oregon State is looking considerably better than they were before the season began.
Our freshmen are coming along nicely, but Oregon State is starting a freshman "big" who is now their leading scorer. That has opened some eyes.
He has UCLA as a 3 seed, Arizona as a 7 seed, Arizona State as an 8 seed, and Washington State as an 11 seed. That last one seems pretty bizarre to me.
