Freshman DB Wayne Lyons will be sidelined for "a few weeks" (it must be serious, they didn't refer to it as working through some issues) with a possible broken bone in his foot.

I remember he was also out for a good portion of his senior year of HS with an injury. Hopefully this doesn't mean he is a bit brittle, because by all indication he is an outstanding talent.

The 2010 issue was a knee injury - if this is a broken bone in his foot my guess is that that is unrelated.

And my medical advice is worth exactly as much as my medical degree - nothing at all.

Sucks to lose someone as talented as Lyons, especially considering that he could really use the gameday experience as a freshman.  He'll be back, though  8)

On a related note, can we take a moment to recognize the fantastic job our staff has done with strength and conditioning over the past few years?  Very few injuries.

...projected Lyons to be a starter by 3/4 way through this freshman season.  When you saw him forgo the usual Stanford 15 yd. cushion its corners usually give WRs and  just get up in their face before the snap,  well,  then you knew he was something special.  Bummer that he's hurt.  If it's a nagging injury they'll probably redshirt him.  Just nobody like him among our current corners.

Actually, I could make one that would do device detection and redirect for Android or iTunes depending on where you are coming from, but that's more trouble than it's worth. Perhaps. Sounds like a good side project for next week.
