Yeah, was going by trying to remember famous SS's and 2Bmen on the same team at around the same era. I'm guessing there will be a bunch who played out of position.  There are also a bunch of famous pairings where at least one of the players wasn't in the HOF (like Morgan/Concepcion mentioned in this thread).  For example Vizquel and Robbie Alomar played together but Vizquel isn't in the HOF (yet).  Other famous pairings: Joe Cronin/Buddy Myer (Senators) - Myer is not in the HOF; Gene Alley/Bill Mazeroski (Pirates) - Alley is not in the HOF; Billy Rogell/Charlie Gehringer (Tigers) - Gehringer is not in the HOF; Ozzie Smith/Tom Herr (Cardinals) - Herr is not in the HOF; Alan Trammell/Lou Whitaker (Tigers) - Whitaker is not in the HOF.

It appears that Bucky Harris played one game at shortstop with the Tigers at the end of the ‘29 season. Gehringer probably played his usual second base that day.

It is also possible that Dick Williams played games at second while Reese was at short for the Dodgers in 1956. Williams was used by Alston all over the field in a utility role.
