Kristie made a fair bit of money last year in the majors, so I would guess a first round exit this year will create a noticeable drop in income and precious tennis ranking points.
Still she played a great match and made Serena work to get into the second round. Definitely not the 6-1, 6-2 type result we often see in first round match-ups for top seeds.
