Nothing defines the difference between Mike Leach and David Shaw than the fact Costello is not wearing a brace on his left knee.  

Costello looks much less statue-like and more fluid without it.

OTOH the brace does provide some stability for knee.  But if you are suggesting Stanford and Shaw care more about the safety and health of their players than Leach anywhere he is, I agree. Tons of QBs wear knee braces.  For good reason.

Leach got greedy with that long throw on 2nd and 4.  Costello tossed a second pick, and LSU is in the endzone a couple plays later.  That's how Leach has lost games in the past.  But you have to respect his aggressiveness.  Instead of going short and steady, chewing up the clock and going up 41-24, it's now 34-31.
