The NCAAs are in May so she could be called up in May abd I hate that possibility

Olympic soccer starts July 21. It is possible that the USWNT will start practicing together and playing friendlies even before May. Or if the NWSL plays in the spring (in 2019 they started in April), Macario could turn pro to do that.
I'm having trouble adjusting to even the possibility of never seeing her play at Cagan again. She seems to really like school and her team at Stanford. Maybe her experience in training camp now will be informative for her.

I'm very happy for Macario. Even if we never again see her in a Stanford uniform, we have been so incredibly lucky to see the magic that she has been able to show us on the pitch over the last three years. She is on pace to graduate by December, and there is no question in my mind that graduating from Stanford counts as bettering her life for reasons other than soccer, which is FIFA's criteria for a waiver. I hope we get to witness one more magical season, but even if we don't, thank you Catarina, an all-time great in the annals of Stanford sports.
