I expect that USB will be punished by reducing the amount of fans that can be in the stands. That was a large crowd on the field.

Indiana has an accelerating number of cases. The celebrating fans, students and community members are real risks to the program.
If ND players were exposed on field, on campus, or around town on Saturday night, they would likely test positive on Wednesday or Thursday. And if that happens they would then miss 2 games.
That's the risk for the program. Deaths and hospitalizations are apparently not the worry in the quest for college football revenue. Losing a key player for one or two games is the concern, jeopardizing a chance at a national championship is the risk.
Think it can't happen? Just ask Clemson or Wisconsin.

So Teejers I take it you are ok with 300 kids getting Covid and then passing it on to others? Ultimately some seniors croak because of it? Those kids who will be fine and flaunt safe practices can what, just live life “normally.”

I'm a Notre Dame alum. I'm not happy with ND's relationship with Covid. Not just the stop-and-start stuff with restarting things for Fall quarter, but also Fr. Jenkins's participation in the Rose Garden fiasco, and some other ND positioning re national politics.
I was dismayed to see the rush onto the field after last night's game. I don't blame the college kids, but it should have been anticipated and maybe controlled or at least mitigated somewhat with PA system announcements reminding the kids to resist that temptation and why they should. The lack of official action is embarrassing for the school.
OTOH I enjoyed the hell out of that finish last night, the team coming through at the end after Clemson had so much momentum. Book looked like Montana in 1979. That was a great game and I'm going to enjoy it a long time.
However, these two teams will meet again, Clemson will have its big guns back when they do, so I'm not betting on ND in the rematch. If we can beat Clemson twice, wow; I hope so; but the odds aren't in our favor.

Yeah, you need to find some way to keep Trevor out of that one too. Obviously, they aren't the same team without him in there, as good as his freshman backup is.

As for the priest in the Rose Garden... we have a similar situation in the SF Archdiocese. The Arch is clueless in regards to Covid. He belongs to the 12th Century.

Agreed, the kids will be fine, but what about the older folks with whom the college kids regularly come in contact, like instructors, lab supervisors, administrative staff at UND, patrons at the local Starbucks, older folks who go to Mass at UND, family reunions at Thanksgiving, etc.? If the college kids can't stay off the field, what makes you think they are responsible enough to stay away from the more vulnerable, especially if said college kids are asymptomatic?
