Here’s a crazy thought: hire him to help out Shawvita over the summer. Oregon had some teams that executed beautifully on offense while he was there. I think it would be really interesting to hear what he has to say about all of Stanford’s “we didn’t execute” issues, particularly at the beginning of most seasons...
At Oregon he only shined with the leftovers of Chip Kelly. His best role was as loyal protege executing Kelly's ideas. He absorbed Kelly's recruits along with his innovations, but as time went by and everybody else figured out what Kelly was doing, he floundered. His W-L went steadily down, year by year. I don't think he'd be a great hire for Stanford.
Full disclosure: I root for Stanford, Oregon, and Notre Dame. I have degrees from all three. When they play each other I root for 1.) whichever has a chance for playoffs; or 2.) whichever is losing
