There’s about 25 seconds left the Raiders are out of time outs on about their own 45. The Jets send max pressure (and don’t get close) receiver runs down the middle of the field the safety is essentially caught flat-footed he runs by is open by about 5 yards - Carr misses him. So now there’s about 20 seconds left. And this time they do they single up on the outside with no safety help. Bring pressure. Don’t get close. WR beats the corner by 5 yards again this time Carr doesn’t miss. . Unbelievable
The dumbest coaching decision in a game I have ever seen. There were 13 seconds left and the Raiders had no timeouts. They needed a TD to avoid losing. Rather than rush 7 and drop 4 as they did, the Jets should have taken a page out of the Giants book today.
The Giants - led by Blake Martinez - played a suffocating zone defense at Seattle, and made Russell Wilson's life really difficult all day long. The Seahawks were in a very similar position to the Raiders, down 5, no timeouts, and less than a minute to go. The Giants rushed 4 and dropped 7. On 3rd down they got a sack., and forced a 4th and 18. Again the Giants rushed 4, this time getting pressure again, and forcing Wilson to throw the Hail Mary the Jets should have forced, which was harmlessly batted down to give the Giants the ball and end the game.
