Chris Owusu wore a yellow non-contact jersey in practice Tuesday and Wednesday but was cleared to play Saturday against Washington, coach David Shaw said. Owusu suffered a concussion in Saturday's 44-14 win against WSU. "I feel fine," Owusu said. "The symptoms were gone (on Sunday)."
Sophomore S Devon Carrington will start in place of injured Delano Howell on Saturday against Washington, DC Derek Mason said. Carrington will play FS, Michael Thomas will shift from FS to SS, and true freshman Jordan Richards will play in nickel situations. Mason said Carrington had been playing about 45 snaps a game.
S Delano Howell will not play in Saturday's game against Washington due to a "hand injury," coach David Shaw said. Howell did not practice Wednesday and was wearing a cast on his right forearm. Shaw said the injury is not serious, and Howell's status is considered week to week.

"It's stupid," Shaw said of the story that quotes an anonymous scout. "Anything like that, that seems arrogant and boastful, you know that it doesn't come from us, and it doesn't come from Andrew."
Redshirt sophomore CB Terrence Brown has exceeded his own expectations. "Coming into camp I was just trying to see the field and earn my coach's trust," he said. Brown started his first career game against UCLA when Barry Browning was held out with back spasms and, even with Browning back healthy, has remained the starter.
CB Terrence Brown and Washington QB Keith Price went to elementary school together in Southern California and played against each other in high school. "I haven't talked to him since earlier in the year when he was fighting for the starting job," said Brown, who intercepted a pass from Price during his senior year of high school.
At 6-8, TE Levine Toilolo had a lot of teams recruiting him to play OT, but he envisioned himself as a TE. "I felt like I was athletic enough to play TE and I didn't see myself getting to 300, 315 (pounds)," he said. Toilolo caught a career-high two TD passes last week.
