The coliseum will remind you of the old Stanford stadium. There are no bad sitelines, but you'll be pretty far from the action.

And I think you'll be fine wearing a Stanford shirt; I've gotten some comments, but pretty easy to shut up given the recent history. There are some jerks in the SC fandom, but I think most of the venom is reserved for UCLA and Cal.

as of this morning, tickets were still available through 800-STANFOR  (the D is silent) for $60 each, which is equal to the cheapest tix currently on stubhub & craigslist

the visitors seats at the coliseum aren't good (tucked away high in a corner of the end zone practically behind the jumbotron), but it's worth it to me to be around stanford people because i hate usc people.

you'll be fine wearing a stanford shirt. i've found that most opposing fans from all schools aren't too bad as long as you're not cheering too loudly and obnoxiously for stanford. i tend to cheer pretty loudly and obnoxiously, so it's better for me to be among stanford people. also, i hate usc people.

I think their fans have had a lot of wind knocked out of them by us, Harbaugh, the NCAA, Reggie Bush, and Pete Carroll leaving.

I grew up in SoCal in the shadow of SC where every kid playing football wanted to go to SC and every kid playing basketball wanted to go to UCLA. So coming to Stanford I have always respected their teams but hate losing to them and really love beating them. Their band is great if you're for SC but if you're not... I REALLY HATE listening to them drone on and on. That's probably why SC has THEIR band sitting right in front of OUR seats. I want us to beat them so badly, just so it'll shut their band up. Oh, and I really don't like those yellow pants that their alums would wear. Ugh! Oh, and we used to launch water balloons with surgical tubing from the stands into the SC band formations.

On a side note, joking about personal safety was normally funny, but that all changed with the Bryan Stow incident.  A variety of cultural, economic, political and regional forces will combine together here in late 2011 to make all Stanford fans potential victims of violent crimes.  So for those that are going, remember to be safe.
