I watched the Youtube video of Stanford@Temple (Thanks mbdude!)
If Temple had tied it at 23-23 in the 3rd set, I am not sure that Hambly would have called a time out. Considering what is next on their schedule, I suspect he might have preferred them to go to a 4th set against what seemed to be a weaker team, just to get a bit more playing time.
Obviously Stanford has a long way to go. Getting everyone healthy will be a help, but the sooner that happens, the more cohesive the team will be. I'm not worried about the service errors - I'm confident that will be corrected before the postseason.
I had the feeling that they were just keeping Temple at arm's length. My impression was they were trying to give Berty lots of chances, so she'd get better. (But many of her kills were tips over the block.) When Temple got close, they'd give it to Kipp or Baird to keep the lead.
