Interesting.  I imagine some of this is a reaction to Santa Clara's land use restrictions. 

For Stanford, the university said in a prepared state the campus presents exciting potential opportunities as it pursues its educational mission and long-range vision that includes more purposeful engagement with the region, nation and world.

I wonder what Stanford will put there.  My guess is that like the Redwood City campus, it will house medical clinics.

Do they have athletic facilities? San Mateo county had less stringent requirements during the height of the pandemic. Our basketball, volleyball, etc. teams had to play in Santa Cruz, Las Vegas, etc. If they have facilities, we may be able to play at this alternative "home" venue in case it's needed.
