The Stanford men take on the Dartmouth Big Green tonight (Thursday) at Maples. I don't know much about Dartmouth, although I would note that their unofficial mascot is Keggy the Keg. And they used to be called the Indians. And Conan O'Brien gave an awesome commencement address at Dartmouth in 2011.

Back to baseketball. Dartmouth's NET ranking is 248, so a loss for 141st-ranked Stanford tonight would be nothing short of catastrophic. Dartmouth is on a California vacation; after Stanford tonight, they have games at Cal and Cal-State Bakersfield.

If there's one thing people have learned in Berkeley, it's that you can't put "Cal football" and "Rose Bowl" in the same sentence. The words just don't fit. You'd be better off linking "covered wagons" with "Mars travel." (Bruce Jenkins, Cal '70, SF Chronicle, Nov. 11, 2017)

I wonder how many non-English speaking viewers are watching Stanford vs Dartmouth basketball on the Pac-12 network. Apparently Wal-Mart thinks there are enough to run Spanish language commercials on breaks.

I can't believe they didn't call a foul on Dartmouth on that last play. That guy was mugging Ingram.
