I've known TJ for 20 years. He's as sincere and earnest in his belief that Shaw is a terrible play caller as I am about anything I post. Based on similar comments across multiple message boards I don't think TJ was merely joking that wanting to keep a bad coach employed was the motivation for opponents touting Shaw.
In any case, responding earnestly to a humorous post does not mean I missed the humor, it just means there were thoughts triggered for me in addition to the chuckle. I think there's something very interesting about the counter-intuitive rankings of Shaw in Canzano's piece that are worth Shaw's critics (including me and TJ) thinking about.
