Happened to be on campus today, and noticed the Pac-12 schools flags flying proudly on the flagpoles between the aquatic center and the football stadium. Time to take down UCLA's and USC's; leave their poles empty. Would be petty of course. But sweet.

I think this fall the Stanford Daily should do a full edition of the Daily Trojan explaining why the NCAA required the Big 10 to cancel the deal (Rule 65, Section C), why the Pac-10 wouldn't admit USC back in, and why USC was forced to join the Big Sky conference at the last minute.  Of course this paper should be distributed all over USC's campus, complete with some quotes from USC AD Mike Bohn, such as: "This has to be the worst moment of my life.  Why now, why me, it's just not fair.  Life isn't fair.  I swear to God it isn't."

Everyone has probably seen the Big 10 announcement that USC and UCLA will upon joining the conference immediately get full shares of the TV revenue.   Based on UCLA's financial issues, I don't find fault with the decision they made.  I think Stanford may have made the same decision even though the Cardinal finances are in much better condition.

Running up millions in debt in LA such that you are forced to abandon your west coast haunts established over a hundred years for the cold, grey midwest....a very specific and terrible kind of failure for a Californian. UCLA is living one of the worst fears for probably most of their students and alums. I'll take a hit of that copium.
