The last sentence before the paywall stopped me was

I wish I knew the follow up! But it sounds like a dilemma we are all having with one of our favorite pastimes.

Darn it. Blocked. What I could read just confirms what I’ve always thought. Andrew Luck is truly a Unicorn. I miss watching him tremendously. And selfishly. I’m very glad he’s out of the game after what he went through.

The ESPN+ article is good. Doesn't reveal a lot we didn't already know, but goes into more detail. The word "corruptive" near the end of the free part doesn't seem to refer to anything in particular that's addressed later. It's not clear what the article author had in mind with that word.

I'm on board with Luck being a quarterback coach or some kind of recruiting coordinator. He needs much more coaching experience before being a head coach at a DI program like Stanford.

I'm on board with Luck being a quarterback coach or some kind of recruiting coordinator. He needs much more coaching experience before being a head coach at a DI program like Stanford.

Joking aside, the article implies he's at Stanford working on his education M.S. in order to become a high school teacher, at which point he'll also coach football at the high school level.

I love Andrew but I think we’d all agree Harbaugh had the more productive NFL career.

In other sports, probably lots. I would think Steve Kerr would qualify and many others. Football seemingly less so. Some decent players that became great coaches seem to be much more prevalent.

The Yogi Berra effect. It's hard to articulate what a great player does subconsciously and flawlessly. "Just watch me do it," Yogi used to growl, frustrated at trying to improve a hitter's swing.

Not a lot of playing greats, but I'd include OT's Forest Gregg and Art Shell. Probably Joe Schmidt (10x Pro Bowl), Dick LeBeau had 62 INTs. Curly Lambeau was basically the Babe Ruth of the Packers. Bart Starr, I suppose.
Lots of DBs, like Tom Landry (all-pro). Mike Nolan, Herm Edwards (33 INTs), Jeff Fisher, Dick Jauron, Don Shula (21 INTs in 73 NFL games), Leslie Frazier,
