Stepfan Taylor had a gritty, yet productive game last night (loved his moves on that screen play), but one of the things I'm concerned about was how often Cal was able to drop him behind the line. One of the highly underrated parts of his production to date was his remarkable ability to never get dropped for negative yardage--but Cal managed to counteract that. Not sure why that happened.
Cal also had a lot of success at blitzing us with overloads and giving large portions of our offensive linemen nothing to do while pass protecting. In this case, it's often the running back who has to chip in well with pass protection, and Taylor is really excellent at that, but they were able to bypass him. A strange day from that perspective.
