I almost don't want to analyze or think much about anything that happened after the half, the game was the big a mismatch. Congrats to Emma-Nnopu for her career high, being game high scorer, and her best three-point shooting game of her college career. I don't think this game tells us much except that what we have seen evolving, the blossoming of Betts and Nivar, has continued. Nivar is becoming a real ball hawk on defense, and is not longer fouling so much. She runs the floor very well and has been consistently playing well. Betts has come into her own, which has big implications going forward. She is now someone you have to get into games, and against teams with good posts, she will be a real asset.
I don't at all worry about Skinner getting her points. Her shooting percentage was bad and she mostly scored against our bench when the game was no longer in doubt. The last quarter and half got a bit sloppy. That doesn't matter much. What matters is the good ball movement has continued, the younger players continue to improve, and the defense was fine when it mattered. The outside shooting has come around with Jump back in her best form, Emma-Nnopu having herself a heck of a day, Demetre hitting, Precthel hitting, Lepolo hitting, etc. Good to have the confidence in their shots for the stretch run.
