Despite the complainers here about the AD, Stanford sports are amazing.  (Enjoy them while they're here.)

The vendor of the calendar used by GoStanford.com does a poor job of showing the number of sports Stanford carries.  12 events on Friday; 16 on Saturday; 12 on Sunday .  Check it out to see what is going on for sports you don't follow.   And most of the time, Stanford teams win. 

Did you know that the Stanford squash team finished 5th at the national championships last weekend?   I've never played squash but I recognize they're skilled athletes.   Another unheralded team is artistic swimming which I think has a chance at winning a national championship (but it isn't NCAA).

On Friday,

• At the Indoor T&F national championships, Stanford got a couple of thirds (competition continues).
  
• #6 Men's Swimming & Diving continued in 2nd at the PAC-12 conference meet.
  
• #5 Squash is competing for individual championships this weekend.
  
• #3 Women's Tennis beat ASU 4-1.
  
• #2 Beach Volleyball beat #1 UCLA 3-2 but fell to #10 ASU 3-2.
  
• Men's Tennis beat UNLV 7-0
  
• #2 WBB beat #13 Oregon State 66-57
  
• #8 Softball beat Nevada 7-4 and LMU 5-0
  
• Baseball beat Washington 3-2
  
• #7 Men's Volleyball fell to #6 BYU 3-2 in a close match.
  

Many of the same teams will be competing Saturday and Sunday.
In addition to the above, 

• Artistic Swimming will be at the Western Regionals, 
  
• Sailing has two events (in different states!), 
  
• Women's Lacrosse, 
  
• #3 Men's gymnastics
  
• Fencing will be at Western Regionals
  
• #3 Women's Water Polo
  
• Wrestling will be at the MPSF Championships
  

I count 9 different top 10 teams competing this weekend.

I really appreciate this update!  The breadth and excellence of Stanford athletics has always been mind-blowing in actuality.  A lot to cheer for!  and some great people . . .
