Harriel played in the first half

Thanks. missed it.

At the chalk talk Tempe was asked about Harriel.  She did not explain why Harriel did not make the last road trip.  Prior to that, her reduced play was a "coach's decision."  I had heard that Harriel was ill at some point but I never learned what it was, how long it lasted, etc.  All in all, I thought Tempe was uncharacteristically evasive about that question.  Was it to protect Harriel's privacy, or was it something else?  

Harriel was, at one point, our best three point shooter, and I thought her defense, while not elite, was probably as good or better than some of our other guards.  Not having her in the mix is not a good sign.  I wonder if the coaches have begun to reduce the playing time of our seniors in an effort to get others more experience, knowing that the best thing that can happen this season is getting ready for next season.

Paye brought Clardy and Ijiwoye.  She immediately mentioned the intentional foul.  "They call an intentional foul.  I've watch it.  I do not agree with the call at all.  It was a game-changer." 

"Good things are coming.  There are no moral victories."  "I know we have not been getting as many wins as our team is accustomed to, our coaches, our fans....but I have confidence in our team.....a lot of that is due to the two young ladies sitting on either side of me...bringing a lot of positive energy.:

Kate alluded to the fact that our team has had consistency issues all season, playing some good quarters but let-downs in others.
"At Duke it was the 2nd quarter.  Tonight it was the 1st quarter."

She was asked about Harriel and confirmed that she was healthy.

I found the comments by KP, CC, and SI impressive at the post-game presser. KP really knows how to put sentences together articulately. She thinks very well on her feet. Nice balance between substance and compliments.

I think it's important to remember that if Tara was the head couch, this team would still probably be 10-9 and in a year of transition. It's too bad this is what Kate was left with, but I am confident in her, she is working hard and recruiting hard and the future remains bright.

Really impressed by the presser. I was glad to see Shay in there and praised for her performance. I was glad KP expressed her dissatisfaction with the call instead of throwing that on Shay. Rewatching the last few minutes (which lasted about half a day) this morning, that was an idiotic call by the refs. May of the Cal players have really honed their acting skills. Ridiculous.

Does anyone know if Jayda Noble is OK?  I hate to think that one was an acting job.  She seemed to be in real pain.  She was crying and could not put weight on her leg.  But the "art of the flop" was on full display elsewhere, admittedly.

Noble went down with a leg injury late in the game and was in significant pain, but Coach Smith said postgame that thankfully she’s fine.
