How else will this effort differ from 2019? According to the university, the forthcoming application will have a “more defined vision and scope,” clearer priorities when it comes to housing, transportation and academic needs, strong alignment with county and state goals and priorities, and stronger stakeholder engagement.

Thanks for sharing and I'm glad to see this move from the university and Levin.  Adding 2600 beds/dorms will no doubt enable growth of the undergraduate population - which has been discussed more and more.  The GUP proved challenging with Simitian making his career on slow walking this process and keeping Stanford in check.   It should be helpful to have new players involved on both sides.  

Too often I hear from local people (mostly east coast transplants) with no affiliation to the university, that Stanford is not a good steward of green space.  I calmly ask them to look at the rolling foothills and ask them what they think those would look like without Stanford's presence?   Here's to a successful GUP, even if it's going to take 3 years to get passed.

I'm glad to have Levin at the helm.  We want people in charge who know why Stanford is important to the students, people who won't just treat Stanford as a brand to be conserved or exploited.
