Ignore the final margin--Stanford piled it on late. Stanford drifted through a lackluster second half, with B-C getting within 6, before finally pulling away, due largely to comprehensive foul trouble. The other part was Chasson Randle, who played a very assured game, with two long buzzer-beater shots.
The defense in the second half lacked intensity and offensively, other than Brown and Randle, lacked something. In some ways it was useful practice for the team, as B-C switched up defenses frequently, but a full court press once again flustered the team to some degree. However, their various halfcourt zones were dealt with fairly easily, particularly in the first half.
I suppose a decent chunk of the blame can be laid on post-finals rust and disinterest in a mediocre opponent. At least, I hope so: the team must improve dramatically if it wants to cause ripples in the Pac-12.
