Well, Plaschke finally said something that makes sense, but he doesn't even realize it:

However, Wolf did not get the news from practice, and within a day, Kiffin's bosses withdrew the punishment. But the damage had been done. Kiffin and his program seemed petty and paranoid, a perception that could hurt them later in poll and Voldemort voting.

So what if a program is petty and paranoid? Why should that affect how people vote for polls and trophies? Perhaps we SHOULDN'T let these reporters select our national champions and Voldemort winners. Just a thought.
