In that game, Tavita Prichard had a better stat line than Nunes' yesterday:
Pritchard: 16/32 189 yards 0 TD 2 INT
Nunes: 18/37 170 yards 0 TD 1 INT

And Pritchard had even less run support (-8 team rushing yards vs. 65 yesterday)

What does this mean? Maybe nothing. I was just morbidly curious how far back I would have to go before finding a game where Stanford failed to score an offensive TD.

In that Oct. 27, 2007 game, Stanford fumbled twice and lost both fumbles.  One was by Jeremy Stewart, and one by was Tavita Pritchard.

Either way, that stat line was humbling.  Pritchard is the worst Cardinal starting QB I have seen in over 20 years.  If Nunes' stat line is comparable to Pritchard on a consistent basis, that says all you need to know.  Obviously Nunes' stats would be better with skill talent at the wide receiver positions that could get consistent separation and can catch the ball.  That said, the pass blocking, by and large, against UW was superb.  Nunes had time to make the throws.  He was just woefully inaccurate.  Take that pass to Toilolo in our last offensive play of the game.  Toilolo was one-on-one with a much smaller CB and would have made that catch if it was near his vicinity.  Instead the ball was overthrown and picked.

Your constant ragging on Tavita Pritchard is getting a little wearing, NYC. Here's what I remember about him: He was thrown in as cannon fodder against a juggernaut the team Under Stanford Control team that was a 42-point favorite. He was playing behind an offensive line so inept and outmanned that the previous quarterback had been beaten into convulsions. He spent most of his time scurrying around the backfield to avoid the jailbreak pass rush. (Even so, he was sacked four times.) But when the chips were down, he was deadly, driving the team for 10 points in the last six minutes. In the chaos of the final drive, he couldn't even get the plays signalled from the bench and called his own. Result: A 24-23 victory. I've been watching Stanford more that twice as long as you, and nothing that I ever saw from any quarterback, not Elway or Stenstrom or Luck, came within a mile of matching that performance. Give it a rest.

That was an amazing game no question.  You point to the inept offensive line which I won't argue with.  However, my point remains that over the course of his career, there was not high quality QB play.  And you can't merely point to an inept offensive line.  In the Sun Bowl, we had an amazing offensive line and Gerhart as RB.  He had an abysmal game.  I have nothing against Pritchard personally and by all accounts he seems like a stand-up guy, as does Nunes.  I would like to think we are allowed to openly share our views of on-field performance without being told to, essentially, shut up
