We can stop pretending that the "Stanford Football Blog" on ESPN.com is actually... a Stanford football blog.
It's Big game week, less than 2 days before kickoff, and there have been zero posts about the Big Game. Actually, since the ND game, there have been only two posts that are specifically about Stanford (the others are cross-posts from their Pac-12 blog.) One of them is a short teaser for a premium article on ESPN Insider, about tight ends in the ND game. The other is a Stanford "midseason report" post. Um, the Big Game is Saturday.
I'm 100% grateful for the awesome Stanford coverage that we've gotten from that blog over the past seasons. But it's now kind of silly (it was already strange to have two USA college teams get specific blogs.) ... I would have fully understood if they just retired it. but perhaps that would be too baldly "Luck's not there, so turn off the lights."
