Apparently the B1G is done playing cup cakes. Or maybe they just don't want the risk of another Michigan vs. App St upset. Regardless, the AD's apparently agreed to no longer schedule FCS schools. It seems like an interesting move, consider the SEC's stranglehold on the NCG could arguable be tied to their 8 game league schedule and heavy dose of FCS scheduling. Maybe in the world of a play off, strength of schedule will be more meaningful.

Supposedly the non-SEC conferences, especially the PAC and BIG12 with their 9-game conference schedules, are trying to get SoS featured pretty heavily. I think this makes sense as part of that. It would be pretty amazing if this could get the SEC to start doing that as well.

Of course, the cynic's take is that they'll now play the MAC, Sun Belt, or whatever else. Ohio might be an FBS team, but are they any better than that App St team from a few years ago? Hard to say.

Either way I think it's a good move, and I like that most years we don't play any FCS opponents, and always have at least one tough OOC game.
