David Shaw fantasies on other sites
08-04-2013, 10:09 AM
One of the more animated quotes from the UT website:
"Shaw is at a school with better academics, a better AD, a better athletic department, a better football team and a better football program. He isn't required to kiss the asses of out-of-touch octogenarian multimillionaires. He can recruit nationally, including in Texas, for students with top academic records who unlikely to spend their time getting drunk and sucker punching fellows students in bars or observing their teammates pounding drunken Texas Tech Raiderette ass during bowl game week. Top that off with very good pay, free tuition for his kids at an internationally renowned university and living exactly where he has wanted to live his entire life. UT has nothing better to offer Shaw. More money won't do it. He is wealthy as is and a few more million won't convince him to leave Stanford."
Gotta love this one. Coming from a Texas fan, no less. (sorry if anyone is offended by the R rated comments, but it wouldn't be the same without them).

Fun thread, and most of the on-topic posters were pretty realistic and respectful.
I didn't realize that graf was a quote until I read the thread, though. Maybe you should put [quote] markup around it for careless readers like me.. ...thanks

They really are living in Fantasyland East. If Shaw leaves, it's NOT going to be for Texas!
What was the deal with the pic of Cory Booker, David Shaw, and Mark Zuckerberg? Why's Zuckerberg in the picture?
I really like the photo of the two generations of the shaw family, but I can't tell which one is David in the first picture. I think it's the older boy.

Maybe he would consider it, but it is going to be hard for him to find a position with more security than what he has here.
He certainly comes across as someone who understands that he has a great deal going. Trading that for the headaches of a "helmet" program or a chance to turn around the Browns in 3 years doesn't seem all that appealing.

Texas board seems to have quite a few tasteless avatars. I suppose those may be for visitors from other schools.

This thread's subject line could really be interpreted in a few different ways.

I spent a while thinking about it.
'David Shaw porn' might have gathered too many hits, and I like this forum too much to bring some other Stanford posters who drove me here.

I think it is more for people who just enjoy tasteless avatars.
