In one of his bullet points Dave makes an interesting comment on Luck\'s second half struggles (Struggles which weren\'t all that deep to my way of thinking).

**Andrew Luck was brilliant in the first half. To start the second half he converted a third-and-five or so using his legs. He got hit hard going to the turf. I am not sure he was the same after that. Then after making the tackle after the Chris Owusu fumble recovery return, Luck stumbled on the way back to the bench. It certainly appeared that Luck may have had his bell rung once or twice and just was not quite the same.

I thought the tackle definitely took the edge off of Luck\'s perception.  His first play after the tackle was an interception.  /shrug  It\'s not to say that Luck wouldn\'t have made a bad decision after the tackle even with 15 yards and a fresh set of downs after seeing his top wideout in the game leave after a head-only collision, but there wouldn\'t have been that air of desperation.

**The Ducks defense may have exposed a weakness in the Stanford offense. Is there a play maker other than Luck? With Ryan Whalen out of the game, and Owusu knocked out, Oregon was able to use a blitz defense to stuff the run first and then proceed to the quarterback. The pressure hurried Luck and the receivers did not seem to get separation from the defenders.

Yeah, when all your playmakers get injured except for Luck, it can seem that Luck is the only playmaker.  Put Stewart, Owusu, and Whalen in the whole game with no injury deficiencies, and the offense gets better by a lot.

**Most home field advantages are good for three to seven points. Autzen Stadium may be good for 21. I think Stanford wins that game on the farm. But in Eugene, when things start to unravel as they did for Stanford in the second half, it is so hard to pull it together again

Kelly deserved a penalty if Harbaugh did.  And the officiating complaints from Kelly and subsequent call bias doesn\'t happen on the Farm either.  Offensive PI, yeah...kick catch interference, yeah.  Right.

**Big props go out to Oregon defensive coordinator Nick Aliotti. The adjustments he made in the second half turned the game. Stanford was shut out in the second half. Stanford may not win the all of their games but the likelihood of the Cardinal getting shut out in a half seems minimal.

The adjustments were suffocating without deep threats to make Oregon pay.  The short routes were anticipated by speedier linebackers matched up against our tight ends.  Somehow, our run game was neutralized.  I\'ll need to look at the game again to see what happened (downloaded it last night; don\'t really want to touch that file).

Anybody who didn\'t get a chill when Harbaugh was flagged just seconds into a top ten matchup hasn\'t been watching PAC-10 officiating for very long -- I cannot think of a single analagous situation--think of the fallout from Mike Kryzewski or Roy Williams being handed a technical foul on the road for being outside the coaching box in the opening moments of a Duke vs. North Carolina basketball game and then having the officials allow the other coach to berate them in an over-the-top manner for the rest of the first half--it just would not happen.  In the bush league of NCAA officiating, AKA the PAC-10, a clue like that lets longtime viewers of the league know that they are in for a long night, filled with wildly bizarre calls that will control the outcome.  I was kind of amused when it happened to Oklahoma, but the rest of the time I just have to wonder why the PAC-10 is okay with rampant incompetence from a few officials, that makes the league, and the officials who are doing a good job, the butt of jokes and the object of derision in every corner of the country year after year.

Regarding our receivers, does anyone have any insight into the progression of our underclassmen (Rachard-Patterson; Roberts; Terrell)? I can understand if they\'re buried in the depth chart, but given the injuries to Whalen and Owusu, they might need to step up.  Have they shown any flashes?

JRP has made some plays but also whiffed on some plays.  No idea on their blocking.  Haven\'t remembered much out of the others.  When I rewatch the UO game, I\'ll see if anything pops out when Owusu leaves (hard to tell because turnovers dominate).
