It seems almost impossible to me that a catch made in that position would not touch the ground - I was shocked when it was initially ruled a catch.

Announcers were showing their colors by hedging hard toward it being a catch despite seeing the video evidence. Awesome.

I saw that picture last night on a UW thread. I agree it was most likely not a catch, but even that's not "indisputable." You can't see his right hand and whether it's beneath the football on the part you can't see. Is there an opposing angle that can show that for sure?
So many critical plays happen on the sidelines yet the angles are always bad. There must be a technical solution to being able to capture those better for replay purposes.

I saw that picture last night on a UW thread. I agree it was most likely not a catch, but even that's not "indisputable." You can't see his right hand and whether it's beneath the football on the part you can't see. Is there an opposing angle that can show that for sure?

For what it's worth, in the ESPN "instant analysis" the ESPN guy says you can see the ball hitting the ground.

I think you guys are over doing it. The camera angles were not very good for that play, nor the challenge (which I didn't think was complete either).
The announcers were fine. I'm surprised they didn't comment on our play calling the entire game.
