I'm presuming losses by Baylor and Miami, and obviously Oregon in that scenario. I have my doubts we'd get to #2, as that would probably require two Bama losses in addition to FSU or Ohio State, who both have pretty cake schedules.
My point here, is that Stanford would then have ended up in the top 4, 3 out of the last 4 years of the BCS. If only our Golden Era had happened 4 years later....or college football had been less obtuse by 4 years....we'd have been playing for national titles.
Oh well hopefully we can keep it up!
Stanford's odd of winning out are rather slim, but if it happens the BCS CG is probably in the realm. There are a lot of untested undefeated teams out there. Baylor, Miami are not that impressive relative to the other teams in their conferences. Bama, FSU and tOSU look better than their conference peers. However it is not hard to imagine 2 of the three losing to their rivals (Auburn, Michigan, Florida) and/or in their conference CG.
That said, I would imagine most CFB fans are projecting that Stanford will lose to Oregon if they play a similar map out the rest of the season game.Â
