Stanford can get back up to BCS #6 or so when the bowls make their picks.  And at those levels a BCS bowl might actually elect to voluntarily pick Stanford.  At a minimum, Stanford will be in the BCS at-large conversation for the balance of the year.  And since UCLA has a terrible reputation for out of state travel winning out should enable the Alamo Bowl to be Stanford's likely destination if the at-large thing falls through.

Frankly, it's long overdue for the PAC-12 and SEC to meet in the post season.  I don't think that's happened in decades.  Last one I can recall was Stanford beating Georgia in the 1978 Blue Bonnet Bowl.

That looks about right, although why would the Orange want UCF?  Ticket sales?  I would think they'd want to fill hotel rooms and go with OK State or MSU.

Didn't the Sugar select Ohio State over Stanford in 2011 (when we had the presumed #1 pick Andrew Luck?).  Something just tells me the Sugar Bowl committee is not a Stanford- oriented group. And who knows what T-boone Pickens is promising behind the scenes.  I think we were lucky when the 2011 Fiesta Bowl chairman was a Stanford grad.

Why are you expecting the Alamo Bowl to take us?  We could be up against either SC or UCLA for that game.  Have we ever won a bowl-joust with an LA school?  I recall 1995 when 4-4 UCLA got the Aloha bid and we at 5-3 got sent to Memphis.  It seems like the LA schools get favoritism because of their history and size. 

I like the optimism here, but I am still thinking Las Vegas is more probable than BCS or Alamo, unless I misunderstand the selection rules which is possible. Maybe I am still reeling from the 2001 10-win team going to the Seattle Bowl.    I think ND is our bowl game now.
