Next time we're in an in-demand bowl, maybe it would make sense to have people help each other out on here. For instance, I only used 3 of my 6 (I think it's 6) tickets that I'm guaranteed, I easily could've added more had I known fellow Cardboarders would be looking. We could probably make some lives easier that way.

No joy.  It doesn't make sense - it never seemed like I was in serious danger of missing out last year.  I know we ended up with a bunch of Wisconsin's tickets, but didn't they come later?  Is there really that much pent-up demand?

This would have been my third, but I am more upset because I wanted to take dad to his 2nd for the 100th and my sister (class of '85) actually wanted to go to her first games since the play.

FWIW [which, at this point probably isn't much], I think the Rose Bowl allotment was ten, not six.  Six was for the "BCS Championship," as I read it.  In any event, I needed 8, put in for 8, and they took my money for 8.

As for potential MSU poachers, one would hope the Ticket Office folks would have practiced their skills at figuring out who those folks were and "inadvertently" cutting them off mid-transaction...  :o

76, I have seen on other boards the MSU fans boast about paying the 200$ season ticket reservation so they were guaranteed tickets for the game. Money seems to have won out over alumni.

Can someone explain why the AD is taking such high numbers of season ticket applications?  We sold out all 38,000 season tickets this year (that includes the student sections).  I assume at least a small waiting list was already in place.  The remaining 12,000 seats in our stadium go to opponent allocations, group sales, single ticket purchases for season ticketholders, and a few individual tickets.  I estimate the opponents get at least 8,000 (around 15% of the stadium).  That leaves a maximum of 4,000 deposits they could take if they eliminated all the other categories (which does not seem wise).  Sees like a strange decision.  The "bright side" I suppose is that if we again have ~35,000 Rose Bowl tickets to sell only a small % are likely to be poser MSU fans placing deposits.

So we'll have very few marquee games on the sched.  Not much resell value for any opponents' fans looking to poach season tix (to guarantee the game of their choice) and resell the rest of the package minus the game of their choice.

Stanford's uneven schedule was made worse with our move to the Pac 12 North and the heightened stakes of the Oregon game.  Look at this year's home schedule bob-bons: Oregon, Notre Dame, UCLA, Big Game and emerging South power ASU.  If you don 't like that schedule you don 't like college football.

Next year?  Stanford's opponents amount to USC and not much when it comes to marquee eye candy for the casual fan.  It's no wonder the AD was working with Cal to balance our schedule.  Perhaps if Oregon falls off and UW takes up the slack this will not be quite as lop-sided but that still looks years away and even then doesn't even the gap.

On the odd years the AD sells the program, not the schedule.  On the even years they grow our base.
