Has anyone heard about this? A coworker of mine said he came close to being selected for a jury in an assault charge against Baldwin. Apparently Baldwin was playing some pickup basketball on the Stanford campus and it got a bit heated, he thought the accuser was going to hit him, so he hit first. The guy pressed charges, probably hoping for a settlement, but the jury acquitted since it was straightforward self-defense.

But what shocked me was how I haven't heard anything about this. You'd think it's something that would come up. And I doubt my coworker is just full of crap, he went into a lot of detail about the selection process, the circumstances, etc. Seems odd to me. I couldn't even find anything about it with a quick search, and my coworker said he had the same trouble finding the verdict.

Apparently Baldwin has some great PR people, or something.

This is as it should be.  Why sensationalize a non story?  Doug did nothing wrong (from your report) and was acquitted.  End of story.  I hate it when this sort of thing gets in the press.  Once I got a call from an attractive employee, late at night, saying she was locked out of the building.  Suspicious, I asked my wife to come along, and she stayed in the car.  Sure enough, the employee was there, barely dressed, and asking for it.  When I laughed she threatened to go to HR.  AT THAT POINT MY WIFE EMERGED FROM THE CAR AND THAT ENDED IT.  Had it been he said/she said?  And picked up in the press?  That would have followed me forever.  Unfair, but true, and the more I would have protested the worse it would have become.  The company would have settled and I would have been sunk.  Accusations are always front page, retractions always page 52b,

He actually tweeted about it last week. Sounds like it was a non issue, he knew he was innocent and only went public with it after he was found not guilty.
