We started with his high school career, got to the bottom of his transfer from Oklahoma to Stanford (there was more intrigue there than I had imagined), and discussed his time in the NFL. It's a bit longer, I think, than my previous interviews, but those of you who remember watching him will probably find it worth the time.

So often you read something in the media and you wonder about the rest of the story. This interview is the real deal, with some truly substantive nuance. For example, Milburn's observation that sure, lots of Oklahoma players were in the pros, but how many were running backs? Oklahoma only had two players drafted in 1993, when Milburn was drafted in the 2nd round. And both of those picks were 7th rounders, a TE and a DB. In 1992, however, Oklahoma had nine players drafted, including Mike Gaddis in the 6th round. But given that Gaddis was a year ahead of Milburn, he might have played in front of him the entire time. Gaddis never made an NFL roster, incidentally, but he was a workhorse at Oklahoma. Leon Perry was a senior when Milburn was a frosh, so he would have played in front of him at Oklahoma. So Milburn made a great read.
BTW, Glyn Milburn still holds the NFL record for most yards in a single game with 404, when the Broncos played the Seahawks
