2014 has a selected-opponents bias at the moment. It may be worth comparing games against the same teams. However, in 2012 Hogan did not play a significant role against any of the teams we have played so far this year - so that comparison is out for 2012.

Before N.-D. there was a clear uptick in performance overall, that was however negated by Stanford's red zone disasters. Then last Saturday was a complete disaster.
Hogan does have such games. Last year vs OSU and S.-C. The Rose Bowl in 2012 after the second drive. My hopeful view is that this year's disaster was spurred by the weather and we otherwise won't see the likes again. My realistic view is that we'll have another couple before season ends.
