A few articles I found moderately interesting on Stanford East:

Apparently, someone took the time to count how often TV broadcasts cut to the sideline to look at a coach or QB. Harbaugh is #1 on the coaches and Luck is #5 among QBs. While the media is giving Pep a lot of credit for the offensive improvement, the Indy fans seem really reluctant to recognize his improvement this year. Pep was really stubborn about "run first" last year which made for a lot of long 3rd downs and holes to climb out of. I'm surprised he's become for flexible in his game plan. It also find it interesting that Luck has turned into such a gunslinger in the NFL. Vontaze Burfict should be suspended. When he was at ASU, I always worried about the damage he would do to our team when we played him. The guy is a loose cannon and extremely dirty. Hopefully he doesn't get any closer to Luck this year than he ever did in college. Seriously, it's a violent enough sport when you play be the rules. Anyone twisting ankles or head hunting needs to be sat down and lose a few paychecks. Luck may not be concerned, but he makes me nervous. http://espn.go.com/blog/cincinnati-benga...ts-concern

If you trust the stats from Grantland's Bill Barnwell, the number of pass plays is greater, but the percentage isn't. The explanation is that they're just running a whole lot more plays:

They’re not throwing a larger percentage of the time. They’re just doing everything more frequently. The Colts have run 460 offensive plays this year. That’s insane. It’s 50 more plays than the second-place Eagles,1 who have the reputation as football’s fastest team. The Eagles are closer to being below the league average of 366.7 plays than they are to matching Indy’s total. Even on a per-play basis, the Colts are running a league-high 76.7 plays per game, more than six plays per game ahead of the second-place Saints (70.3).

No, we arrived late at night, and I didn't realize how close we were to the stadium. All kinds if buildings are within a few blocks of each other. The state capitol, the War Memorial, the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial, the repertory theater, the NCAA are all within a few blocks.

As is my habit, post-loss, I'm avoiding reading anything published about Stanford football. I just hate reading anything negative about the team, coaches, or program following a loss. Luckily we've got the Stanford FB alumni program to view on Sundays to help take my mind off of Saturday's showing...

Indy is a fun visit for a sports fan.  You can tour the Kremlin-vast NCAA headquarters, then amble over to Lucas Field--very cool from the outside--and then to one of my favorite baseball fields; tthe smaller minor league scale helps. Alll within blocks.
