When I first heard that song in 1966, I thought he must be a much older guy because of the strength and emotion in his voice. Turns out he was just a few years older than I. RIP, Percy.

That song triggers many fond memories. It still gives me goose bumps. He will live forever in that song. RIP, Percy.

Sad day. Musically it is a shame he seems to be remembered for only one song, awesome as it is.

When I first heard the song in the Spring of 1966 I was in Europe (Stanford in Britain I) and in love.
