Congratulations to the men's tennis team, who beat Tennessee in the subregional at Duke today 4-2, overcoming starting a match at 7AM Pacific time and losing the doubles point with strong performances at 4, 5, and 6 singles and a gutty 3-set win at #3.  Duke didn't bother to set up a stream for the match, and the live scoring was only by game.  Stanford scored three straight wins after losing the doubles point, then lost at #1 singles.  #2 and #3 both split the first two sets, and #2 was trailing 1-4 in the third.  #3 David Wilczynski, who had given up a lead in the second set, went up 4-2, then 5-3.  But at 5-4, it was agonizing - the Duke website didn't update for about 10-12 minutes.  Finally, the word came over Twitter that he had closed it out.

Well done, and great to see the freshmen do well, especially David Hsu, who won his 11th straight match despite being moved up from #6 to #4, rallying from a first set loss to take the final two and the match convincingly, 3-6, 6-1, 6-3.

Hopefully bodes well for the rest of the NCAA matches today.  Women's golf currently moved up to a tie for 3rd in their regional, +2 today through 8-10 holes, and only a stroke behind C.al, who is +8 through 5-8.
