Win the problem right now is recruiting.

It's a big problem but unfortunately I don't think that's the only problem.  Looks like this is still a VERY fractured team and it wouldn't surprise me if more players from last season's debacle leave.  Doesn't sound like Hanson has really handled this very well, but we only got mostly one side of the story about the current team/players.


But like I said, I would give her more time to fix this through recruiting.  If she can't do that then she shouldn't stay.

Is this a cautionary tale against recruiting kids of parents who coach at opponent institutions?  The whole "dad is a coach at Oregon" thing just puts a real sour bent to the whole situation.

Part of me suspects this is at the root of the problem.  I haven't seen nor heard of enough to convince me that Muir is up to the job.  Stanford deserves to have a world-class AD who "gets Stanford" and so far Muir is not world class and I'm not sure that after three years he gets Stanford yet.  Maybe some of you who have spoken with him more often than my annual call with him about Dawkins have greater insight to share.[/size]

March 23:  The Lancers stud sophomore picked up three wins in the circle last week, striking out 25 batters while scattering just eight hits. At the plate, Dwyer launched a pair of home runs against Esperanza, including a grand slam that highlighted a 16-2 win over the Aztecs. With their ace off to a scorching start, the Lancers are already off to a 14-0 start this season.

Muir seems like a "nice guy" sort of AD. He seems... a little passive, but not entirely. I could be wrong. I've heard him speak and handle Q&A sessions. Not vivacious, but on the quiet side and somewhat cerebral.
