Stanford has a fantastic reputation in Australia and I am sure many young athletes would be thrilled to be considered for a scholarship. IMO Stanford does not have great links into Australia and does not invest time/resources recruiting there. Of course not all players would be academically eligible but without any investigation - no one will know.
