Not that I care how they spend their money but going where the competition is generally pretty damned serious shows commitment. And, of course, I'm too lazy to look up the state and status of Big 10 water polo.

Indiana currently competes in the CWPA. They and Michigan are the only Big Ten programs in that league.

Huh. Well it's nowhere near the Pacific, and Indiana's flat as a pancake, so I think we're going to need to redefine speed bumps to qualify as mountains for IU to fit within the "Mountain Pacific Sports Federation." But good for them and for the conference, though the away games at IU will be quite a trip, since last time I checked, there's only one direct flight anywhere in the Bay Area from SFO to Indianapolis, and then it's another hour+ to Bloomington.
